Clear guidance for every step

Account, photos, visibility, meetings and events: what you need to feel confident, from the first message to the end of the evening.

01

Account security

A strong account starts with a unique password used nowhere else. A password manager can help you keep track of it.

No one needs your password to help you — not another member, not the team behind the site. If someone asks for it, end the conversation.

  • Choose a long, unique password for your profile.
  • Turn on two-step verification when your email provider offers it.
  • Sign out of shared or public devices.
  • Never send your password in a conversation.
02

Private photographs

Each photograph can be public, limited to your connections or kept to yourself. You choose photo by photo, and you can change the setting at any time.

Before publishing an image, look at what it gives away in the background: a licence plate, an address or a recognisable view of your building.

  • Set the visibility of each photo separately.
  • Remove a photo in one step, with no explanation.
  • Avoid images that pinpoint where you live or work.
03

Profile visibility

You decide what appears in your profile and how people can find you.

Visibility can be adjusted without recreating a profile, and you can change it back whenever you like.

  • Appear or not in search results.
  • Choose who can write to you.
  • List the languages you speak to guide conversations.
  • Hide a profile without deleting it while you take a break.
04

Blocking and reporting

The Report button is available from every profile, conversation and room.

Blocking ends contact: the person can no longer write to you or see your profile. Reporting brings the behaviour to the attention of moderation.

  • Report without blocking, or do both.
  • Attach a screenshot to support the report.
  • Block afterwards, even if the conversation is over.
05

Financial scams

The platform processes no payments and no money transfers. No conversation here should be used to ask you for funds.

Requests for gift cards, cryptocurrency, transfers or banking details are warning signs, whatever reason is given.

  • Never send money to someone you met online.
  • Be wary of sudden financial emergencies.
  • Do not share banking information.
  • Report any request for money.
06

Pressure to move off the platform

Some people push to continue the conversation elsewhere, very quickly. You are under no obligation to agree, now or later.

While you stay in the site’s messages and rooms, you keep access to blocking, reporting and visibility tools.

  • Take the time you need before switching channels.
  • Refuse a request without justifying yourself.
  • Keep a written record of anything that makes you uncomfortable.
07

Public first meetings

For a first meeting, choose a public, busy place that is easy to leave: a café, a restaurant or a busy park.

Tell someone you trust where and when you are going, and stay in control of your own transport. You do not have to give out your address.

  • Stay in a public place the first time.
  • Arrive and leave on your own terms.
  • Let someone close to you know the time and place.
08

Getting home safely

Plan the trip home before the meeting even starts. A route you already know removes much of the stress at the end of an evening.

A few simple habits make the way home calmer.

  • Keep your phone charged.
  • Share your route home with someone you trust.
  • Do not accept a ride that makes you uncomfortable.
  • Send a message when you get home.
09

Event safety

Events take place in public venues where you can come and go freely.

You can leave an event at any time, without having to explain yourself.

  • Check the place and time before you travel.
  • Arrive and leave on your own terms.
  • Report any inappropriate behaviour on site.
10

Wish moderation

Published wishes are reviewed before they become visible. A wish must stay respectful and cannot be used to get around the rules.

You can remove a wish or change its visibility at any time.

  • No illegal, hateful or harassing content.
  • No disguised request for money.
  • Report a wish that seems out of place.

Recognise requests that deserve a pause

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre warns about urgent money requests, pressure to invest and attempts to isolate someone from trusted friends. Do not share banking credentials or send money to someone you have not met.
